Partner Albert Asatoorian assisted Evolution Robotics in raising $13.88 million in a second round of venture funding led by CMEA Ventures. Other entities participating in the second round were Vodafone Ventures; Pasadena tech incubator Idealab, which provided initial funding for the company in 2002; and hedge fund Quercus Trust of Newport, Calif. Evolution Robotics will use the money to continue developing its technology.

Partner Kevin DeBre will be a guest speaker at the 2008 IP and the Internet Conference to be held December 8, 2008 in Santa Monica, CA.  The presenation is entitled, “Yes, but…” – Experts Debate Terms of Use, End User License Agreements, and Other Terms and Conditions.”  Kevin, along with another IP licensing expert, will be debating leading-edge issues and questioning customary assumptions about what electronic agreements should say and whether they are even needed at all.  To view further information and register for the event click here.
